Who may apply?
Eligible UT Tyler student pharmacists preparing to begin APPEs may apply, subject to FCOP standing, onboarding, and program requirements.
How many references are required?
Two confidential professional reference evaluations are required.
Do I upload my CV and personal statement in the portal?
No. Submit the online application, then email the documents using the instructions and application ID shown on the confirmation screen.
Can I save an unfinished application?
Yes. Use Save and continue later, then keep the private resume code. The code is not emailed automatically.
Are all listed electives guaranteed?
No. Electives depend on learner goals, scheduling, preceptor availability, institutional requirements, and FCOP approval.
How is this different from traditional APPE rotations?
Students remain connected to one integrated health system, allowing sustained mentorship, cumulative learning, deeper organizational understanding, and progressive responsibility.
How are students assessed?
Assessment includes direct observation, coaching, midpoint and final evaluations, quarterly reviews, portfolio evidence, projects, and competency progression.
Are references visible to applicants?
No. Reference evaluations are confidential and accessible only to authorized program administrators.
Does acceptance guarantee a particular assignment?
No. Assignments remain subject to College requirements, site capacity, preceptor availability, and institutional needs.
What should I address in the personal statement?
Discuss career goals, why longitudinal training fits your development, leadership or service examples, relevant strengths, and meaningful areas for growth.
